MSFT to join the pc-phone calling race

ever since google barged in with their disruptive searching technology and now everything between email and online messeging products, the tech world has seen great chase and bittering fighting for people, market share and every joe schmoe's desktop real estate. so google is scanning the world's book, MS and yahoo follows. Google has new toolbar, MS and yahoo update theirs. glad to see skype leading the MS-YAHOO crowd today for a change. MS is just throwing their oversized butt and chasing anything their competitor is doing right now. while i doubt this is the perfect strategy, it is surprisingly straightforward and viable for big players like MSFT. it is cutthroat market alright, but as a end user i'm certainly not complaining. skype has bring voice clarities never before seen and google made organising information a less annoying experience. certainly this is just the tip of the new beginning. Now if i bought some google share last early this year...

i have no doubt that ms has some of the best talents around in technology world, but their size certainly starting to erode to the nimbleness they once possess against formidable rivals such as IBM in big blue's heydays of the 80's. going forward, microsoft will certainly still strangle anybody who's grabbing their OS and office suite of cash cows, but then again, how long will a cash cow like office live? office is the MOST profitable product line ever to greet the earth, thanks to excellent design and easy to use interface. i can foresee a good 5 more years of prosperity for the OS and office for MSFT, but after that it's not clear what will happen.
