Moviejournal: Wall street 2: money never sleeps
Excellent score and cinematography, a visibly senile Michael Douglas (poor man is found lately to have throat cancer). The first half build up the new story beautifully: a flashy new wall street, brash young investment banker protege and his mentor enjoying million plus bucks bonus chats, and a recently released inmate named gordon gekko. the brash new investment banker obviously appreciate the finer things in life: a manhattan duplex with awesome view and a hot girlfriend happened to be gekko's only daughter.
without checking other reviews i think it's referring sorta to lehman's demise when protege's mentor committed suicide. It's all a bit surreal and probably accurate depiction of what happened. to trained eyes it does work a treat. acting is fine all round, the loveable susan and the womanising sheen all makes refreshing appearances. the second half dies down a bit and focussing on the mundane lines of a revitalised gekko setting up his own fund with the 100 million stashed in swiss bank from his early days. story gets a bit av when they focussed on the relationship and the baby.
all in all an well made film
