Moviejournal: Noah

A very expensive movie ticket at 19 bucks a pop. Came in with no expectation or idea besides the suggestive title, didn't even know Emma was in this film which was a pleasant bonus. Acting wise, russell crowe is continuing his intense Gladiator style gaze into this forsaken world and at certain point verges on committing the silver screen sin of killing a new born baby (son of jesus style). i was so certain that would never happen though in a hollywood commercial film. emma watson deserves accolades in this convincing performance as the sole multiplier/spreader of human genes, how fitting!

morally this film explores interesting questions wrt biblical events. what do audiences make of this Noah lunatic ? (that's the question posed by the NYT review). certainly is thought provoking stuff. it's not hard to see images of such obsession and single mindedness in our society though. It's an interesting philosophical question
