Moviejournal: the interview

As bad as the reviews are for this movie, it's actually not so bad. Crude humour (finger snapping crude) aside, this has a great comedy story with twists and boobs and humility. Seth rogan and James Franco are sweet peachy comedy genius in their own genres. The treatment of Kim is funny and harsh, having such a great American accent for Kim is funny in its own right. The deface of Kim in this film is thorough in a take no prisoner approach which surely agitates Kim the real dictator without an asshole to no end.

A great and enjoyable film, lower your expectation and everything is a classic!

Moviejournal: fifty shades of grey, kingsman

If we have to sum up fifty shades of grey in a Twitter style comic animation flash, it probably would be something like this: a billionaire 27 year-old hunkingly handsome actor looking guy with a closeted passion for submissive sex play fall in love with no other than a virgin and romance seeking innocent young college student. The plot doesn't really extend too much beyond the indicated mind-tussle between the two characters, ending in the middle of a fight when grey revealed a bit of his true desire in whipping anastasia. Slapping big deal. It's undoubted heading for a trilogy and purple box set the way it finished.

So ok, it's a lot of sparse pubic hair and nondescript breast size, the SM acts are probably toned down considerably given the wider audience of a keenly anticipated major studio feature film. If porn is really what draws you to watch it  you probably won't be impressed because I know I'm not. As an adaptation I wouldn't be able to judge coz I bought the bloody book and didn't have time to read, so that comparison would com later. Script seems to be too bounded by expectation whatever they are, acting seems rather one dimensional.

Let's now discuss the paradigm upon which the story sets in. A difficult upbringing that affects sexual inclination later on in life is quite plausible, but a virgin that quickly familiarise with the intricacies of dealing with powerful man isn't so plausible. Anastasia's development in the film from a shy english lit student to a daring girlfriend who refuses grey's pressure is somewhat unrealistic. Just a little bit. In reals world, much more hurt and submission would ensue before he is refused anything, but hey that's fiction for you.

The kingsman

Colin firth in a bespoke british suite killing bad guys and crazy citizens are fun to watch. Stylised violence at its best.
