Moviejournal: star wars: the force awakens
This is a movie
franchise started before most viewers are born, which is saying something heavy
about the series. The tempo is really well controlled by the director so that
we still get a very immersive sense of the film world and how character
develops, albeit in a strictly star warish universe where good and evil are
kinda clear cut and can be told by mere clothing colour alone… dark side is
overly weak and shaky in this film, Solo’s son still lingers in the undecided
and confused circa teen puberty phase of his darkness-development cycle. I mean
if an force-ish cute chubby faced scavenger could muster enough girl force to
beat you squarely in a light sabre duel, you’ve got dark side deficiency
problems all around.
Also it’s very
much like a remake of the New Hope initial star war film, with the familiar
plot of budding force dude/dudette, cool spacecraft battle x wing vs ti fighter,
baddies with simpleton syndrones bent on destroying world but failed due to
some last minute dramatic bravado of the x wing pilot handsome dude. Dejavu all
over again.
But as always
with the blockbusters (well most of them), awesome acting and great music. Great
cinetography. Not much wrong with this film and wealth and prosperity to come!
