Moviejournal: cafe society, Jason Bourne

Always a fan of the thought provoking style of woody Allen. Cafe society isn't an exception. Surprisingly set in both 30s Hollywood and NYC, it portraits a smart Jewish boy who fell in love with a charming girl from the office but ultimately defeated by money and reality (embodied by his own uncle). Love and life are so barrenly real and the characters took them on with such grace and ease it belongs to an bygone era really. Plus the girl is really hot. Whoever casted her deserves a casting oscar if there's such a thing.

Jason Bourne: a bit tired after so many iterations of mr mysterious and the mystique is now wearing thin. Lots of action is good though.

Moviejournal: Rogue One

actual cinema going events has been few and far between lately. Rogue one is an exception. excellent music scoring, some say it's lacking the John Williams sparkle, but i reckon it's awesome enough orchestra music. less of a JJ Abram nostalgic feel for force awakens and more of a standalone film with the same formula and elements.

i like it
