Moviejournal: Mission Impossible 8, Ocean's 8

Mission Impossible 8 - an excellent tourism promotion for Paris and London and otherwise tired formula. Tom is winning at faking his age. the villain chic is hot

Ocean's 8 - trying very hard to be a slick heist flick but failed to have the sheen of the original ocean's x films.

Moviejournal: Avenger 3 infinity wars

an enthralling marvel universe mega hit, i can see why its a box office hit. the somber ending is unexpected, the villain really well portrayed, the ensemble cast quite entertaining.

Tv journal: dirty money / moviejournal: sicario

I had been put off watching dirty money for so long because the cover art and the title smelled so much cliche and dramatization, like one of those low budget Chinese documentaries which half of which is building up the suspense by fabricating and purposeful misleading you to some grand theory or horror backdrop, then in the last 20 minutes it’s like a watery diarrhea that drops away like shit.

But not dirty money. It’s one of the most well researched, well written, insightful, beautifully shot documentary series you could wish for.

In the pilot Vw emission story, we learned with shock that Europe is to this day continuing to suffer under defeat devices from diesel cars. Makes me never want to own a diesel car again (my next car probably is a Lexus hybrid).

In the HSBC story, an egregious bank is shown a spotlight to bare. What is most startling is when this starry eyed cia wannabe kid tell how Hsbc renamed terrorist groups to hide transactions under the radar. Holy shit be careful indeed should be Hsbc’s full name. I was right 13 years ago.

The payday loan story is such an intimate portrayal of the Tucker family you wonder if they know what they are getting filmed for. You almost feel for the tuckers and believe that they are doing everything legal.

Sicario sort of linked to the Hsbc story and it’s about the real world war in drugs.
