It happened after I paid 5aud for a month of tencent video for Ryan to watch octanauts and when I desperately wanted to brush up on SPFx, but 12 episodes (hours) later here I am. 

I’m completely engrossed in it though, the wee hours in the morning after my eyes fell out from Vesa’s (excellent) SPFx tutorial suddenly energized again for yet another 2 hours of Billions. 

Axe is acted completely brilliantly. It is how a ruthless hedgefund billionaire should be as i imagined, sharp, ruthless, focused, straight, passionate. The death stare alone is worth an Emmy mate. The jewel I discovered is when Axe says I don’t ignore the little voice in my head. I amplify them. They keep me alive and awake. Or sth to that effect. Such truth. 

The ensemble cast is also worthy no less of house of cards level accolades I feel. Even though I know this is tv drama, im right there with the characters all along, it never loses me one beat and let off as ingenuine or acted. The wry smile after Wendy got her 5 million bonus are gold. Each episode has more fucking drama than 10 Chinese movies combined. 

Moral questions abound though. Is every hedge fund trade on inside information? From what i read it’s probably the norm. Obviously being an unleveled playing field it is illegal, the law is quite clear on it. But is every hedgefund depend on it? I don’t know. Settlement is likely to be the best the law could do it seems from this show. 

Wendy - she worked for Axe for ages sure, and built that place sure, but if your husband is the us attorney obviously it’s not appropriate. Her husband recuse himself on the axerold case won’t be enough to quash the suspicions. But it’s also hard on her coz apparently she loves the work. 

All other casts are sterling. Can’t pick a bone. Really. 

Just here to hope I get to finish the SPFx and PowerBI stuff before the holiday wraps up. However at this rate the 3 seasons of billions will be the first to wrap up for me. Let’s stick to equal no of hour for billions and for SPFx.
