Fiction

it's hard to imagine a world where shooting occur almost everyday, Lee thought as he sipped his double latte in one hand while steering his BMW through the morning traffic with another. He feels relieved that he never have to deal with the crazy world filled with weapons every day anymore. Back in his twenties, Lee was a hyperactive guy living "without regrets" as they say. the world was much more violent as he remembers back then, every body has a gun or know somebody who has a gun. as he eased into his private parking spot at the corner of parking lot, he noticed the dark sky outside.

he was stopped by no less than 3 assistants as he shuffled inward to his river view office from the elevator. bank called, contracts need to be signed, expenses to be reviewed. same old crap, Lee murmured to himeself. Since he started off as an assistant manager after retiring from the marines, he is constantly amazed by the administrative bullshit that a manager has to go through before start doing any real work.

his email inbox is as usual filled with daily briefings of financial numbers that would otherwise not bothering Lee at the least bit. But not that he is responsible for some rather wealthy corporate clients, number suddenly start to speak. what these number mean to the dead students this morning? he thought to himself. not a lot. thanks to modern communication, Lee is never 5 minutes away from the happenings in any corner of the world. his car syncs calendar his computer, his phone can connect him to his assistants on no less than three networks, and his blackberry pumps memos and numbers to him wherever he goes. oil dropped again which is bad for the economy. iraq war is continuing with no less sarcasm from local media, and presidential primaries is still going strong without a clear winner for the democrats. Lee glanced the day's NYtimes and wall street journal and found the world at more or less the same condition as the day before, except more deal bodies. secretly he thanked god for retiring from active duties although he is not proud of doing so. He has a family now which changes his priority alot from his "no regret" early 20's days. an ivy-league mba and 2 years of investment banking later, he makes more in a month than he did in a year in iraq.

He wouldn't go back there even if it pays a million bucks an hour.
"Mr. Shlong from Mercer on line one, would you like to take it sir?" Emily announced. "Yes thanks" Lee answered. apart from a funny name, Shlong is a rather influencial guy on the street. his firm controls more war time investment from the us government than anyone else in the country. sometimes Lee thought shlong is the weapon of mass destruction for middle east.

"Lee m'boy" shlong always call him that.
"undoubted you know about the shooting this morning"
"how can i miss, it's terrible"
"oh yes. now, i have something to tell you about that shooting"
"i'm listening"
"you may know our country is pushing iran. the baldies in NSA just conjured up a master plan to take their strategic assets. now there's some setbacks in which we lost a few men."
"sounds like our government alright"
"well to cut it short, we created the shooting to wag the dog"
"what?!""you heard it right m'boy. now we need you to work some magic with some of your clientele"
Lee instinctively realized the seriousness of this stuff.

In his so far stellar hooking up mega corporations with deep pockets of investors and banks, he experienced first hand how power brokers rely on big governments to make their billions. Halliburtons and Black Waters quickly spring to minds. but Lee knows for every Black Water there are ten other hidden vultures nibbling away tax payers' money in the background through a myriad of agencies like DOJ or Homeland Security. Their contribution directly dictates the outcome of most elections and federal policies. sometimes Lee wonder why he fought for this mega conglomerate of business/corrupt officials in the first place. it certainly made him not paying any more tax than he could avoid. Lee's bank accounts are mostly hidden away in swiss vaults.

Schlong is one of the key backers of the one of the senators that's running for the top job. Lee has witnessed first hand the senator's obedience when schlong talks to her. like a principle talk to one of his students. his firm is stand to profit handsomely if the senator wins the office. schlong controls some key outsource firms that can immediate start to provide service for foreign troops in middle east. contract costs in those places are not quote - because they can be adjusted at will!

Lee's firm will also profit from the senator's win due to its status as the key financier for schlong's business ventures. blue chip customers like schlong don't pop up every day and lee does his best to make schlong happy most of the times. this time it won't be an exception.

Tony's black v3 awoke him at 6 in the morning. his plastic alarm was set to go off at 6:30, and tony really didn't expect to be alive anytime before that. he's lying in his blanket on his belly and scrambled to kill his phone on the bedside desk without looking. the cop side of his brain finally prevailed and he struggled to raise his balding head to see who's calling. it's the chief inspector Garrott. Tony always refer to Garrott as inspector gadget to other people. "fuck" tony cursed. he had to take it.

"NIU had shooting, 6 dead including killer. meet us at NIU in 20." Garrott blasted without starting with a greeting."roger"

fuck those lunatics, tony thought. teens with guns is the biggest threat to our national security. tony drag himself up. 20 years he's been attending to all types of crimes this state throws at him. if he had to do it all over again he won't have the stomach. over the years he rose through the ranks to station chief at Kalgry, a town 50 miles west of chicago. but the big boys from chicago like garrot still calls the shots on big ones like this.

tony gingerly dress up and wanders to find some coffee. it's just him in the house. a bad marriage and a string of bad dates have left a sour test of woman in his mouth, and he's not eager to explorer further. occasional swings are all he needs these days.

15 minutes later he's on the highway to NIU in his state issued ford explorer and state issued garrett .22 pistol. no need to rush because killer's dead already.

republicans are a curious bunch. especially fundamental republicans with strong christian value. on the one hand they support strong gun control, on the other hand they believe abortion can't be legalised. killing a few human for crime is ok. i guess you can argue babies commit no crime but it's a stretched argument. no gay marriage. every animal specy has homosexuality documented, why not human? This is indeed intriguing. christians abide by god's book so much that they cannot accept basic human conditions. glad god didn't mention penis is a sin, lee thought. so guess this is conservative.

Francis' idea of a perfect laptop is one with large display and ultra thin. under 1kg of weight. in essense two slim sheet of metal or plasatic that is durable and fast.

Bob realised that he really out out-sleep the tiredness. Once the afternoon nap hour arrives, there is simply no way to fight it except slowly doze off.

UNM(University of New Mexico)的ECE(Electrical and Computer Engineering)有这么一位老板,有理想有抱负,是push的典型代表,梦幻军团的黄瓜同学有幸收在他门下,我们这才有幸能够分享他巨牛无比的言论,转载以自励!

motorshow

Another motor show in Brissy. without noticing this is already the 3rd of 4th motor show i went to. we've truly been staying in brissy for too long. this time free tickets courtesy of BMW. Jeremy clarkson just tagged 3 series as those cars created by accountants, not enthusiasts like hondas or jags. oh well, 3 coupe still tick my boxes.

main findings from the motor show this year: rx-8 is actually small and reat seats are impractical. i can't sit straight in the back due to low head rooms.

is-250's interior is quite mediocre. i'll take a vw over it.

anyway, this is another crunch time. i'm ready to finish BCP in preparation for the 2 day holiday i want to apply.
