Book review: QF32 - be the captain of your own plane

the most incisive insight i could gain after reading the long narration of a qantas pilot's journey in life and through the ordeal that is the QF32 engine blow up, is that we all have the inner plane waiting for us to take charge.

lets review what exactly captain Richard de crespigny has to do: he need to resolve any conflicts both external and internal to himself to maintain a unified and disciplined approach to any disaster. whehter it's a disfunctional team or a conflicting decision, he maintains the final efficient judgement maker in the situation and never panic.

what this implies for us is also simple yet hard in itself: we are individuals could not waiver in any conflict and need to maintain our judgement and decision making capability. To cave in and give up our ability to choose and make decisions is possibly the biggest sin we each could make in life.
