Moviejournal - transformers

just came back from the friday night screening of transformers at southbank which we unprecedently lined up 1.5 hours before the commencement time. but honest, this is totally worth it. the pre-screening hype has been pretty heated with all the rave online and in traditional media, so i went in with ultra high expectation and trepidation, hence the 1.5 hour lead up time. what i can say after watching it is it doesn't disappoint at all, and excels at all levels as far as summer blockbuster goes. wow.

firstly, megan fox is totally hot as described by countless males. she was definitely a highlight of the film. the whole pace is tight and rapid. bang bumble bee stands up. bang optus prime. bang f22 fleet. bang huge brawl in the city. bang energy cube.

the story line totally doesn't suck. a bit of the independence day aura which is a totally good thing. heroic adventures are celebrated in this film along with all the other virtues we treasure as 10 year olds watching transformer cartoons in the good old days. what changed is the visual. oh the visual. anything less than a 3 storey high wide screen is an insult to this film, transformers deserves nothing less. i doubt anyone watching it on their 17 inch screens from some camshot version is enjoying this because over 10 billion of production for this film simply is made for high-def. i'm so going to get the blu-ray for it.

It's a film that's on another level compare to crappy remakes of this year (yes ocean's 13 and pirates 3 i'm directly making references to you two, fuck you) and i hope this film goes on to win many awards come fall award season in terms of visual effects, and michael bay has just become many teen boy's hero.
